Social Events

 

All participants and their partners are invited to register for the conference social events.  Bookings must be made in advance on the Conference Registration Form.  There is a limited number of tickets available for the evening at the Opera House.

All conference registrants are invited to the Welcome Reception, which takes place in the Graduate Student Lounge at the Business Faculty of the University of Technology, Sydney.  Mingle with colleagues and friends while partaking in drinks and and hors d'oeuvres.  The reception will conclude early enough for people to enjoy a night on the town to explore Sydney’s hundreds of notable restaurants, quaint bistros, and lively brew pubs and nightclubs.

Puccini's "Manon Lescaut"

Join us for a night of opera at the famous Sydney Opera House.  There are three men in Manon’s life. Her brother, Lescaut, tries to protect his sister from the harsh realities of life. The wealthy Geronte offers Manon the life of luxury she craves. And the romantic and impoverished des Grieux offers his heart. Should she opt for glitter or passion, comfort or happiness?

 

Conference Dinner AUD$100 including drinks
Friday, 17 July, 6:30pm

Join us for the CEF 2009 Conference Dinner at the Imperial Peking Harbourside restaurant. Housed in a heritage listed sandstone building (circa 1820), the restaurant boasts some of the most spectacular views of the Sydney Harbour, the Bridge and the world renowned Sydney Opera House.
